UPDATES
Asteroids saves itself on your device so it loads instantly and plays offline. When a new version is published, it downloads in the background and an UPDATE AVAILABLE message appears. Tap UPDATE to switch now, or keep playing and it takes over next time you open the game. It checks when you open it, when you come back to the tab, and every 30 minutes.
CONTROLS
- ← → or A D rotate
- ↑ or W thrust
- Space fire · Space or Enter start / restart
- S sound effects on/off · M music on/off
- Touch: put your left thumb anywhere on the left side and drag. The ship turns toward the stick and thrusts harder the further you push. Hold FIRE on the right while steering. Tap to start.
- Extra life every 10,000 points. Your high score and sound settings stay on this device.
CREDITS
- Inspired by Atari's 1979 arcade classic Asteroids (Lyle Rains and Ed Logg). This is an unofficial fan remake.
- Made by Kent C. Dodds with Kody. Vector graphics drawn on canvas; every sound and the chiptune are synthesized live with the Web Audio API.
